Power move.
As a two-time winner of the James Beard Foundation's Craig Claiborne Distinguished Restaurant Review Award — in 2013 for her work at the Village Voice, and just last month for Bloomberg — Tejal Rao is without a doubt one of the most talented working food writers. It's therefore a major coup for the Times that she's leaving her post at Bloomberg, where she's worked for close to two years, to write for the newspaper's food section, as well as pen a monthly column for The New York Times Magazine.
BREAKING: @tejalrao is joining @nytimes. She'll write for @nytfood and a monthly Eat column @nytmag. Please welcome her to the dance floor.
